Trendwatching.com – Blog of the Week

February 26, 2010 by · Leave a Comment

Have you ever wished that you had a crystal ball?  Just imagine if you knew just how popular a small square of yellow sticky paper would be….ahead of the really smart (and I expect wealthy) person who did?  Does your job depend upon being ahead of the rest when it comes to what is in style?  If you are the Wedding or Events industries, the answer is yes.

This week’s featured blog is a great tool for all of us who have their hand up.  Trendwatching.com is the blog by one of the world’s leading trend firms and as their ‘about us’ page says, they are proudly opinionated.  Using their worldwide network of analysts and spotters (found in over 120 countries) trendwatching.com helps marketers, CEO’s, researchers, and people like you and me, whose businesses depend on knowing where the next trend is coming from so that we can design goods, services and experiences that will be in demand.

What I love about Trendwatching.com is that you can use them as your research and development division.  In February’s report, Trendwatching.com has highlighted the demand for ‘functionality’  and the demand for a new breed of products that are small, cheap, simple and at least a little sustainable.  For a local sample of the type of information you will find at trendwatching.com click here and to read more reports head here.  There is plenty of free information available from trendwatching.com and if you are like me and are fascinated by what they do, you can subscribe to their blogs and updates on Twitter, Facebook. For more detailed information check out their Premium Service.
