Destination Wedding Venues Around the World – Part 2

Hayman Island is amongst Australia’s best resorts and having worked on the island myself as Event Operations Manager I can certainly attest to this fact. As a destination wedding venue it is probably one of the most idyllic. The customer service on Hayman is probably the best of any I have seen and every little detail is accounted for and thought of.
The start of your wedding journey doesn’t begin on Hayman though, oh no, it starts with the journey across to Hayman. You have a choice of vehicles and can opt for the luxury Hayman Cruise which will take about an hour, the seaplane or a helicopter where you can land on the private Helipad. This all simply adds to the thrill and excitement of a Hayman wedding.
One of my favourite things about Hayman as a wedding destination is the many different areas that a bridal couple can have their ceremony or reception. Let’s start with the ceremony. Not only am I a former employee of Hayman but I also had my own wedding there too, so I can speak with some authority when I say that you would be hard pushed to find a more gorgeous or unique chapel than Stella Iris located on the top of the hill (otherwise known by the staff as the Hollywood Hills).
If the chapel is not the your client’s cup of tea then there is also the Formal Gardens, Lagoon Lania, Coconut Grove, Hayman Beach or in many of the grassed areas Hayman has to offer. The wedding photos will be something special too and if using the recommended Hayman photographer you are taken on an amazing journey on a speed boat that sees you on the beaches of Whitehaven. Here you can run across the white sand hand in hand both with your immediate family and on your own. It is a once in a lifetime experience and has to be timed just right to ensure that the tide isn’t covering the small stretch of beach.
Moving on to the reception there are almost too many options to mention, but depending upon the type of wedding there is the option of a dinner for up to approximately 40 in the Formal Garden, a dinner of any size on the Hayman Beach, use of one of Hayman’s 4 restaurants that include La Fontaine (fine dining), La Trattoria (Italian), Azure (Seafood) and the Oriental (Asian), or for something more private an intimate candlelit dinner for two on your balcony. Add to this the option of an exotic BBQ around the Hayman Pool, Alfresco dining at the Beach Pavilion or an invite to the Chef’s Table your client is spoilt for choice.
Hayman is also the perfect Honeymoon destination with a selection of water sports available including snorkeling and scuba diving, of if you prefer something more relaxing then lazing around the Hayman Pool or being tempted by the delights of the Retreat, Hayman’s Spa facility will cater for your every need. I am probably biased in the fact that I had my wedding at Hayman, but I really can’t think of a more beautiful place that in the wonderful tropical resort that is Hayman.
