Event Connect

event-connectThe Internet makes venue searching for meeting and event professionals at once both simpler and more complicated.  Whilst a Google search will reveal pages and pages of possibilities, wading through the amount of information available to you can be time consuming.  What I also find difficult about the Internet is assessing the neutrality of the information I am viewing; is it a genuine review or an advertisement made to look like a review?  Venue search directories can make the job a little less daunting by giving you access to basic venue and supplier information quickly; which means you have more time to do your own detective work on the venues and suppliers that appear to match your criteria.  So, as part of our ongoing ‘Venue Review’ series, this week we are looking at one of your directory options; Event Connect

More than just a directory of venues, Event Connect is a reasonably user friendly website that enables users to access detailed supplier listings and specific information about venues and services located in Asia, the Pacific Islands, Australia and New Zealand.  Advanced users can register with Event Connect to gain access to more detailed information, but as a guide, basic users will find contact details, photo galleries, floor plans and document downloads from this directory.  Registered users can also form ‘group accounts’ to share information (personal notes against each listing and preferred supplier tags).  With the ability to enquire directly to the venue via the Event Connect site, good search parameters and a comprehensive database, Event Connect offers a fairly streamlined approach to venue searching.

An added bonus on this site and something that I particularly like, is the live news feeds that appear on the Home Page, designed to keep you up to date with suppliers and specials.

Check it out for your next event and let us know what you think.
